The vast majority of cases will have tax rebates ranging from $300 to $600 for individuals and from $600 to $1200 for joint filers. There is an additional $300 for each qualifying child as well. These totals can be less based on the Adjusted Gross Income and the tax liability of tax filer or filers. There is also a phase-out reduction that starts at $75,000 for individual filers and $150,000 for joint filers.
There are several examples below for married taxpayers or joint filers who are childless or do not have any children that qualify for the child tax credit payment.
1) A married couple that has no children and wages of $4000 with no federal income tax liability.
